Acer Launched the first 7″ Honeycomb Tablet – Acer Iconia Tab A100


The Iconia Tab A100 runs on Google Android 3.2 “Honeycomb” operating system, the new version of the Android platform specifically optimized for tablets. Acer said Iconia Tab A100 is the  first tablet with a 7-inch screen to run Android 3.2.  The WiFi-only device, which has a 7″ display and weighs 410 grams, offers full support for Micro SD card that now can be accessed from the PC via USB connection.

The tablet is powered by the dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and said to provide four hours of battery life on regular internet usage. “On this 7inch (1024×600) full touch screen tablet, you can enjoy movies, read books, and browse the web with Flash 10.3 support. Most impressively you’ll be able to run and play premium arcade games and complex online 3D games,” Acer said in a statement. Acer’s tablet also provides 1080p video playback, HDMI out and has Dolby Mobile technology. On the camera side, the tablet comes with a 5MP auto-focus rear camera with 720p videos, and a 2MP front-facing camera for video calls. The Acer Iconia Tab A100 forges new ground for innovation in a 7-inch tablet. With its feature-laden, yet practical design and compact size, the A100 has the goods to deliver a modestly sized alternative to the 10-inch class of tablets.

The Expected Price of this Tablet in the US is 330 USD(14 905.8INR) for the 8GB wi-fi Model and 350 USD(15,809INR) for the 16 GB wi-fi Model making it the cheapest Dual core tablet.
