If you are not a Comic Book fan/ if not much of a reader of comic books then you might not know that every few years the comic writers change the origin story in comics, they calling it a reboot they change a few things it’s like rebooting your computer after a maintenance upgrade the basic structure is same. Other times they change the whole story, they call it the “What if” scenario, it’s like replacing your old windows computer for a Mac or a Linux, for example what if the Kents never found superman, or what if batman’s parents survived, and so on and so forth you get the point.
This time a new Series has come called Earth 2: In a world without Heroes where the super hero that was first created in the 1940’s and 1950’s The Green Lantern is the leader of the Justice League or what ever they call it.
From the time the first Comic was sold heroes and super heroes had GIRLfriends and they kissed girls not boys, the times have changed the New Green Lantern in the Earth 2 Series has a boyfriend. Below is the Preview (trailer) of what you are going to find in the comic.
Earth 2 issue 2 preview
James Robinson, the writer behind the Earth 2 series, told USA Today: “He’s going to be the leader of the team, this dynamic hero, he’ll do anything to save people, the bravest man on the planet. Why not just make him gay as well?”
If you are wondering what happens to the next green lantern movie, don’t worry that Green Lantern is not this Green Lantern, this is, like we explained before a ‘What if’ scenario.
DC Comics are not the first ones to go Gay, i mean have a gay character, last month Marvel also revealed their one of the X-Men in the series “Astonishing X-Men” is getting marries to his boyfriend.
As expected there had to be some protest against the the new, ahem, change in preference of the Super Heroes The One Million Moms organization posted on their website:
This is ridiculous! Why do adult gay men need comic superheroes as role models? They don’t but do want to indoctrinate impressionable young minds by placing these gay characters on pedestals in a positive light. These companies are heavily influencing our youth by using children’s superheroes to desensitize and brainwash them in thinking that a gay lifestyle choice is normal and desirable.
The New Civil Rights Movement reports that One Million Moms tried to warn its Facebook followers that the Green Lantern had Lanturned. Next to a WARNING sign, they declared that the Green had gone Pink.
Alan Ladd Wellington Scott — to give this Green Lantern his full name — has, as do all superheroes, a weakness.
His is not a weakness for yellow, or anything so fey.
At the core of Scott’s power is his ring. At the core of that ring is the mystical Starheart. The Starheart is a very powerful thing. It severely slows down the aging process. In fact, the Starheart is said to be one of the most powerful forces in the whole world.
However, when Scott first went into action all those years ago, he was caught off-guard by someone wielding a club.
Ever since, this original Green Lantern has had a weakness for wood.

As a comic book fan or a Green lantern fan or both do you think it’s wrong to have the Heroes in the Comics to be Gay? Do you think it will effect the mindsets of the young kids and teenager by having their Super Heroes, that inspire them to be gay? Or do you believe the choice of partner of the super hero just doesn’t matter till the story and action is good?
