HTC Launched 5 new Phones at MWC but not as revolutionary as last year

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syBTF5RGd1c

HTC launched 3 new phones, the Desire, Legend and Wildfire last year at the MWC out of these 3 the Desire and the wildfire turned out to be very successful last year. The name desire turned out to be so lucky for them that they even introduced two new phones with the same name, The Desire HD and  The Desire Z. 2010 was one of the best year for HTC, ever. HTC plans to do the same thing this year as well with the Squeals of the phones launched last year.  I will Tease you no more with the history lesson lets begin.

HTC  Wildfire S

HTC wildfire  S is the Squeal to the HTC Wildfire, also referred to as the Desire mini, The HTC Wildfire S has a 3.2″ HVGA screen, 600MHz CPU and 512MB RAM. It will launch with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. As compared to the original wildfire which has a 528 MHz ARM 11 processor, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm MSM7225 chipset.

In fact the HTC Wildfire S is the only one of the S trio that we find to be a worthy update. The vital resolution increase, combined with the shrinking of the body and the slightly improved processing power make the Wildfire S a very decent lower mid-range handset.

After the disastrous QVGA screen mounted on the original Wildfire, seeing the HVGA on the Wildfire S is really a joy to our eyes.

The interface of the new Wildfire also seemed perfectly smooth and the Sense UI adds quite a lot to its usability.

So do we think this a good upgrade? No, Not really.

should you buy this one instead of the original wildfire ? Yes.

Is it worth the upgrade from the Original wildfire? No.

HTC Desire S

The HTC Desire S has an aluminum unibody and a 3.7″ WVGA screen. Its camera is just a 5MP snapper but can record 720p video too. It packs a 1GHz processor and will launch with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

”Here’s an idea: Take the best and make it better” is the slogan sitting on top of the HTC Desire S promo materials. And in theory that’s how it should have worked.

The HTC Desire S is Running on 1 GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on top of it.

So do we think this a good upgrade? As compared to the what Samsung, LG and Motorola put on the table their Dual Core monsters with super CPUs and GPUs , No.

should you buy this one instead of the original Desire ? Yes, if it comes out within the Same price range.

Is it worth the upgrade from the Original Desire? No, as the Original Desire is gonna have Android 2.3 as well and you can root it to get it any time you want.

HTC Incredible S

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_muTDpUiTM

The HTC Incredible S has a 4″ WVGA screen and packs an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash and 720p video capture. After that start you might find some of its other specs a bit underwhelming – it will launch with Android 2.2 Froyo and a single-core 1GHz CPU.

In its nature, the HTC Incredible S is a minor update to the Verizon-bound HTC Droid Incredible. You get the new generation Snapdragon chipset inside, the more powerful Adreno 205 GPU and some extra RAM inside an identically looking shell.

And while we have to admit that we were envied our American friends for being the only ones to get the Droid Incredible at the time, we are not particularly confident of the Incredible S prospects right now.

With dual-core Gingerbread-running smartphones with 1GB of RAM just around the corner, the HTC flagship is decidedly looking uncompetitive. Of course the Incredible S might become a hot deal if HTC fit it with a price-tag that suits its new position in the pecking order. Here’s hoping!

Oh and the HTC Incredible S can do an amazing trick – rotate the capacitive keys so they match the orientation of the display!

So do we think this a good upgrade? As compared to the what Samsung, LG and Motorola put on the table their Dual Core monsters with super CPUs and GPUs , No.

should you buy this one instead of the original Droid Incredible ? Yes, if it comes out within the Same price range.

Is it worth the upgrade from the Original Droid Incredible ? No, as the Original Droid Incredible is gonna have Android 2.3 as well and you can root it to get it any time you want and this one will come out with android 2.2.

Did you hear any rumors that facebook is working on a Facebook Phone or the fPhone (Like the people liked to call it)? Well the rumors turned out to be true… Almost. The two new phones by HTC, Salsa and Chacha running android 2.3 Gingerbread also offer Facebook Integrated with the HTC’s Custom User Interface (Sense UI).

HTC Chacha is among the very few android phones that have a portrait QWERTY keyboard, I believe this has been done to target the social networking generation and the to woo the blackberry kids or heavy messaging kind to join the android bandwagon. HTC Chacha has a 600 MHz processor, 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM and is running  Android OS, v2.4 (Gingerbread) on top of it. All this with a TFT touchscreen 2.6 inches (480 x 320 pixels) Display.

HTC Salsa is also running a 600 MHz processor, 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM and is running  Android OS, v2.4 (Gingerbread) on top of it. All this with a TFT touchscreen 3.4 inches ( 320 x 480 pixels) Display. it looks alot like the HTC legend launched last year. and the Specs are also very similar

Both these devices Feature a Facebook button at the Bottom which performs different facebook tasks depending on what you are doing on your phone.
