Lenovo one of the Largest Personal Computer manufacturers is entering the Smartphone industry with their new phone they call S2. Lenovo claims that S2 distinguishes itself with features like security systems to protect personal data, prevent phishing attacks, and to secure network and SMS traffic.
The S2 also boasts a dual-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, as well as an 8-megapixel camera on a 3.8-inch screen with 800 by 480-pixel resolution, a front-facing 0.3-megapixel (VGA) camera, and either 512MB or 1GB of RAM. The buyer will also have the option to choose between 8GB or 16GB Internal Memory.
The phone will running on Android 2.3 gingerbread at launch though we would like to see Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich released for the device and hope Lenovo not be one of those companies that launches a phone and then forgets about it which just adds to fragmentation.
Lenovo has yet to announce an international shipping date, or price information to the press. They have, however, mentioned that the S2 will be available immediately in China
