Look and Feel

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is lighter in weight because of it’s all plastic body which is also a minus point of the device as it does some time give the feel a cheap built quality and every time you take out the battery cover of the device it feels it will break of.

While the Samsung Galaxy S2 loses major points on the built quality Motorola Droid Razr scores major points in the department.

The droid Razr is a very sleek device and possibly the thinnest smartphone out there (honoring it’s heritage) and that to with out compromise. It is solidly constructed from premium materials like diamond-cut aluminum, Gorilla Glass and a sheet of super-slick Kevlar, which is a irresistible beauty to behold and in the hand this device feels like a slim sports car with the body of a Tank. There is no battery door to the Droid Razr hence the battery is not user replaceable and maybe hence they launched Droid Razor MAXX with bigger battery life.

Winner – Motorola Droid Razr

Both Samsung Galaxy S 2 and Motorola Droid Razr have a 4.3inch Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen with scratch proof Gorilla Glass on top of it with PenTile matrix display technology. The Droid Razr has a slight edge over the Galaxy S 2 here as well as it has a higher resolution qHD display with the resolution of 540 x 960 pixels while the Galaxy S 2 has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Higher the Resolution, higher the image detail quality, better view experience and higher battery consumption and hence the Razr has a bigger battery.

Winner – Motorola Droid Razr

Both the Devices have each a 8MP Autofocus camera with LED flash, capable of shooting 1080P full HD videos at 30FPS

User Interface

The Motorola Droid Razr is running on Motorola’s custome user interface they call the Moto Blur version 6 and the samsung galaxy S 2 is running Samsung’s Touch Wiz version 4. Both the interface have their plus and minus points, look at the video below to see which one you like as it is more of a personal opinion thing.

But then there are the additional Motorola Droid Razr Accessories for which if you are willing to spend money it will greatly enhance your user experience and Motorola Also adds a on the out of the box free(conditions apply) Cloud syncing support so you can access files on your computer from any where in the world, which is a plus point towards the Motorola Droid Razr.

One may argue if you minus the accessories both are pretty much equals in this department as stuff like dock and web top etc. cost money and if you have a laptop then you really don/t have much need of it. Well Motorola does have a advantage over here but still we would not declare any winner in the UI department.

Conclusion: Overall Winner Motorola Droid Razr

Samsung Galaxy S2 II was launched at the MWC of 2011 and was available to purchase in May 2011, the Droid Razr just came out in at the end of 2011. Samsung has done a pretty good job with the device it can still stand high months later.

Motorola Droid Razr has Galaxy S 2 beat in almost all major areas but the deciding factor is still a little bent towards the Galaxy S 2 due to the Price Factor. Currently Galaxy S 2 is priced below the the Droid Razr and that can seal the deal for Samsung.
