Samsung has recently announced Two new Devices at the IFA event, first one is the Super Amoled Plus Honeycomb Tablet known as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 and second one is the Tablet Phone hybrid the Samsung Galaxy Note.
Samsung Galaxy Note
Samsung Galaxy Tab is in the middle of two different Categories, phone and a Tablet as it has a 5.3inch screen which makes it too big for a phone and too small for a tablet, so actually it is a little bit of Both. Just like the 5″ Dell Streak Galaxy Note also has a Telephony features so you can actually hold it to your face to use it as a phone.
The Galaxy Note has a 5.3″ WXGA (1280×800) screen (285ppi) and comes with a stylus, the S Pen (Simillar to HTC Flyer Pen?) that works with dedicated apps (S Planner, S Memo, etc.). It runs Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread (and not Honeycomb as you/we had expected) on the same beefed up Exynos chipset as the Tab 7.7 (dual-core 1.4GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, Mali-400MP GPU). However, its camera is much better at 8MP with 1080p video recording. The Galaxy Note measures 9.65mm of thickness and 178 grams of weight. It’s battery is 2,500mAh (one very Big Battery).
There will be a selection of accessories for the Samsung Galaxy Note – a pen holder for the S Pen stylus, a dock and even a car holder.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7
The Samsung P6800 Galaxy Tab 7.7 packs a 7.7″ SuperAMOLED Plus screen with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, which gives it the highest pixel density we’ve seen on a tablet yet (196ppi). For comparison, the iPad has 132ppi, the XOOM has 149ppi and the original Galaxy Tab has 169ppi.
The Tab 7.7 is powered by an overclocked version of the Exynos chipset found in the Galaxy S II – a 1.4GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM and Mali-400MP GPU.
t’s only 7.8mm thick making it the thinnest tablet yet and has very little bezel around the screen, 3MP autofocus camera with LED flash and 720p video recording, a 2MP fixed-focus front camera, 16GB storage and an IrDa port (yes, you read that right). You also get telephony and 3G HSPA+ connectivity.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb with the tablet version of the TouchWiz UI. It will come in a variety of versions when it comes to internal storage – 16/32/64GB and you have a microSD card slot too
The Prices of both these Devices are yet to be announced by Samsung.
So which of these two Dual Core Tablet cum Phone does actually appeal to you, is it the 5.3 inch Pocket Tablet of the 7.7 inch Tablet Phone?
