There have been lot of attempts to replicate the functions of the Siri Application since it’s launch along the iPhone 4S. Here are few examples that have come pretty close as compared to Siri’s performance.
1.EVY for iOS And Android
Evy is a mobile search product developed by True Knowledge and is available on the Android Market and iOS App Store. Evi features both voice and text input methods and provides local information for both the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The application features a few impressive features such as one-tap word typing which gives suggestions of words you might want to help the user build a sentence faster. True Knowledge have also given Evi the ability to adapt and learn from users which will allow ‘her’ to give users more personalized feedback.
Evy is basically has one of the abilities if Siri and it cannot access or modify the calender or set up appointments and right now it doesn’t have a large area coverage.
‘Experimental Speech Response Application’ or ERSA attempts to offer SIRI like Functions but doesn’t has the same accuracy Siri has in recognizing different accents and long sentences, But Siri is a Apple product and the guys behind ERSA do not have such resources.
ERSA is avialable through Cydia, for which you will have to jailbreak your iOS device. In the Cydia App just search ERSA and you should be good to go.
3. Dragon Go! for Android and iOS
The Developers Nuance Communications of Siri build this App!
With Dragon Go! you can do more in less time like buy movie tickets as you walk into the theater, go shopping at local boutiques while you wait for your nails to dry, settle a bet at the breakfast table on the square root of Pi, or plan and invite guests to that night’s happy hour – all with just one ask of Dragon Go!

So how does Dragon Work?
“Show times for Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” – Dragon Go! delivers you directly to Fandango.com featuring showtimes for your local theaters. The Dragon CarouselTM also enables you to compare results on IMDB, Twitter, and Rotten Tomatoes to get you all the need-to-know information for that movie!
Or say, ‘What are the planes flying overhead?’ and get up-to-the-minute information from Wolfram|Alpha on all the flights currently crossing over your location.
*Those of you outside the US will be disappointed to know that Dragon Go! is US-only at the moment. However, seasoned Android enthusiasts know that there is a way: if you have a rooted Android smartphone, you can install an app like Market Enabler [Market Link] and sort of fool Market into thinking that your device is in US. Just be sure to choose USA T-Mobile when you launch it!
**Dragon Go! does not support Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, yet.
Please note, for optimal performance we recommend and support Dragon Go! for Android OS v 2.1 through 2.3.7 using the native Android Media Player. Support for Android 4.0+ is on it’s way!
