Now this is unexpected, after all these years this is the first time Sony Ericsson has fulfilled a promise so quickly and on time, the much awaited Android 2.3 Gingerbread update is finally out. All the Non Carrier locked phones can upgrade right away.
When the new software is available, you will receive a message in the status bar of your phone. The easiest way to get the new software is to accept this update – you can use your mobile network or a Wi-Fi™ connection for the download. Alternatively, you can use PC Companion.

Aside from the standard Gingerbread upgrades the phone will also receive
- Pinch/Zoom touch for mobile Internet browsing and Google Maps.
- Additional support for bi-directional languages.
- A deeper Facebook integration
- WiFi hotspot an USB tethering capabilities
- A new photo widget
- A sortable applications tray
If your phone already has Android 2.1, you can use your mobile network* or a Wi-Fi connection to download the software. Alternatively, you can connect to your PC and use PC Companion (if you don’t already have it, download via the button below).
If your phone still has Android 1.6, you need to use PC Companion to update your phone with the latest software. For more info on benefits included in the Android 2.1 update, click “Show previous update/s” below.

They Skipped the Android 2.2 foryo update and Directly to 2.3 and then the time they took to upgrade from 1.6 to 2.1 had everybody lose hope if they will upgrade it again. But finally at last the Last update is out or is on it’s way we hope.
